Grand Guignol Sketch
We like to start a new design with a pencil sketch; sometimes more expressive than a computer visual. This one was for Grand Guignol, a purposely gory and shocking style of theatre. Finished design can be found further down the page. /enlarge
The Marriage
Our design for Gogol's comedy uses a collage technique we started for Molière's The Miser (at the bottom of the page). /enlarge
Jack And The Beanstalk
Illustration for the Belgrade's family panto. A pencil sketch is done to establish the design and plan the characters, then the whole thing is painted in photoshop. /enlarge
Exchange Education Sofas
A development on a long running visual gag where things turn up in places you wouldn't expect them to. It started with a zebra in a phonebox and here we have a series booklet covers. /enlarge
Girls Like That
Show design for Evan Placey's play about the part technology plays in bullying. This is the image's first outing in the season brochure we do for the Theatre Royal Plymouth. /enlarge
Brilliant Adventures
Show poster for the Bruntwood Playwriting Competition winner. Distressed to look like a pulp sci-fi book jacket from the 1950s and based on a photo by Joel Fildes. /enlarge
Repclif Chemicals
A rare non-theatre project was to design a set of packaging labels for cleaning products. The first orders are coming in already, so look out for them in a supermarket near you. /enlarge
Truth About Youth
Poster identity for the Co-Op's Truth About Youth project and Royal Exchange Theatre. We believe that the Co-Op went on to use this design on their print at other venues - the cheek! /enlarge
Early Years Postcards
A set of four postcards for the very young. These have proved very popular and the Royal Exchange have had to re-print several times! /enlarge
Making An Exhibition Of Ourselves
A report for the Royal Exchange Theatre's Education Dept. The design was based on a scrapbook to reflect the contributions from all the schools, communities, young people, early years groups and adults that took part. /enlarge
Grand Guignol
We're very proud of this design for the Drum Theatre, which needed to be gruesome without upsetting people. It was even used as a backdrop behind Kirsty Wark on Newsnight Review. /enlarge
The Gruffalo Live On Stage
We can't take the credit for Axel Scheffler's brilliant illustration, but we've been designing all the touring show print for KW&NB since 2009! /enlarge
The Devil Is An Ass
A modern take on the vices available to us now... much the same as they were when Ben Jonson wrote this in 1616. /enlarge
A Thousand Slimy Things
We worked closely with Lewis Gibson and Tangere Arts to produce this illustration, basing the characters on the actors who would be in the show and even including an allegorical albatross. /enlarge
